As with mosttowns and cities,we are fortunate to have been left with an excellen photographic recore of the history of Wolverhampton during 20th Century, and thanks to local film sequences of the changing face of wolverhampton's street and inhabitants.

The films themselves-dating back as far as the 1920's-span 70 years of the town's busting and cosmopolitian life

Amongst the earliest recordings, we can see enchanting images from the late 1920's un a fil of 'Guy Trolley Buses' shortly after they had replaced trams.

Onto 1935, and the festivities of the Silver Jubilee of King George V - street decorations,bonfire and firework displays and extracts from a play which was staged at the Molineux Football Ground.

Five years later, and Britain was in the depths of war. In August 1940, a film was taken of the teachers and children of Elston Hall Junior School-as they worked,played and prepared for the harsh realities of war.

Take a walk down memory-lane, as we re-visit Wolverghampton of the 1950's and 60's and enjoy view of the streets and buildings - many of which have now disappeared. Experience the thrill of the occation,as the Queen pays a visit to Wolverhampton in 1962,and witness the dramatic changes to the landscape and the character of the town as it undergoes redevelopment in the 1960's and 70's

The video offers viewers a unique opportunity to relive the history of over half a century of the change and development of Wolverhampton.
