There was once a very powerful King. He had nine hundred and ninety nine quarrelling wives who were terribly annoying. He used his magic to help a butterfly solve his matrimonial problems. This frightened his own wives who were overawed at his show of power, so they behaved from then on.

A long time ago, the crab used to be as big as a house and very, very rude. He used to make the sea very rough and would not stop when an old magician asked him to. So, the old magician cast a spell on him and made him small and pink and, even now, takes his shell away every year for one month as punishment.
