You may remember a little 80's Adventure movie called "Raiders of the Lost Ark," it was released in the summer of 1981 and blew our socks off, it was Steven Spielberg's first Indiana Jones movie and of course, it was a gem.
Steven had been impressed upon hard when he was a child by low budget action and adventure TV Series and wanted to create something that could muster up these sorts in feelings in adults.
Along came actor Harrison Ford who we all know, can as an actor be pushed beyond normal human limits, (personally I always put it down to his shoulders). Harrison Ford in legendary style would return for three sequels as Dr Jones, in 1984, 1989, and 2008.
So the fifth is currently in production. A fifth Indiana Jones film with an as yet undecided name is set to be released in 2023, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Harrison Ford, now 80, will return to the role, James Mangold is the director taking the helm, the filmmaker behind "Ford v Ferrari" and "Logan."
In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, James told us a little about the nature of things to expect, as you may well imagine it will be a "sunset" and and it sounds to me like it will be a true ride into the heart and soul of our dearly beloved Docotor of all things as mysterious as they are historical, it truly is set to be the end of a legendary character's journey.
Mangold implied respectablility by all accounts and said that "Indy's age needed to be a central part of the story, and not just the source of jokes". We could be in for a rather romantic ride through the past five decades of adventerous action and passionate intrigue that many of us grew up on, hope so.
