But that's not all - they're also diving into the live-action realm with a darker, grittier take on the beloved characters. Enter "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin," adapted from the popular IDW comics.
Co-creators Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, along with artists Esau and Isaac Escorza, Ben Bishop, and Eastman himself, bring this pitch-black tale to life. Set in a bleak future New York under totalitarian rule, it follows the lone surviving turtle seeking revenge after his brothers and Splinter are slain by Shredder's grandson using high-tech ninjas.
Tyler Burton Smith, known for his work on "Child's Play" and the upcoming "Boy Kills World," tackles the script, promising a narrative dripping with chaos and vengeance. Former DC Films head honcho Walter Hamada is guiding the project, promising a departure from the lighthearted tones of past adaptations.
Meanwhile, Paramount's also reviving the "Scary Movie" franchise under Miramax's banner, and whispers suggest a fresh directorial vision is in the works. And after a stumble with "Babylon," director Damien Chazelle is back in the saddle with a mysterious new project rumored to be set in or around a prison.
